Cherif – « I think it’s important to help »
Cherif came from Algeria to participate to the summer camp at Pamiers, in Ariège. It was a first experience like that for him, and it let him many good memories…
A deep motivation
In sunny conditions, Cherif prepares a sale of house linen with another volunteer who comes from China. Together, they select and order the linen that they have been picked up in the storehouse. “I don’t like to stand idly by”, he says.
A heartfelt volunteer commitment
His motivation? “I think it’s important to help poor people, to avoid wasting and to reuse things. I never had the chance to do that, and today I do my best to achieve it.”
Intercultural meetings
“This experience enables me to meet amazing people”, he adds, smiling. Thanks to these meetings, he could discover French culture and learn some words in Chinese too. He is proud to show us that he can write the 10 first numbers in Chinese now!
You want to help us too? You can register by now for Emmaüs summer camps!
