Before completing your registration, you must read the Emmaus’ Solidarity workcamp charter. If you agree with it, you will have to sign to confirm your registration.

Solidarity workcamps represent a good occasion to discover and to contribute to Emmaus’ solidarity actions, during a week or more, with other young people from all over the world.

Emmaus is an association which hosts and helps people with personnal, familial, economic or psychologic difficulties.

By taking part in a Solidarity workcamp, you’ll be welcomed in an Emmaus community and you will share companions’ daily life who live and work in the communities. By being companions, these people become actors of solidarity projects supported by the Emmaus movement.

By giving items a second life , Emmaus gives a second life to people again.

In Emmaus’ communities, the main activity is about collecting, sorting and selling donations.

Volunteers and employees work at companions’ side.

During your workcamp, you will be in immersion in the community and you will fully live the Emmaus Expérience. To know more about Emmaus, we advise you to go on Emmaus Expérience or Emmaus France’s website.

By registering to a Solidarity workcamp, I make sure I will be able to take part in the workcamp I’ve registered for and at the time I registered.

Before my arrival, I contact the personn in charge of Solidarity workcamps in the host structure (of which I’ve received the email adress when my registration has been confirmed) to inform her about my arrival’s details and I commit to answer her emails and inform her in case I’ll have to cancell my stay.

During the Solidarity workcamp, I commit to respect the community’s schedule (work time, meals time…), to work with companions (around 7h a day) to support the main activity of collecting, sorting and selling donations or to take part in other projects. I get involved in the community’s life and help with different tasks.

I commit to respect the community’s rules and to adopt a kindly behaviour towards all the actors of the association (companions, volunteers, employees, clients).

What is an Emmaus solidarity workcamp ?

A commitment
With other young and engaged people as you, you will contribute to the Emmaus solidarity actions (such as collecting, sorting and selling secondhand items and/or market gardening activities proposed in some solidarity workcamps). In this way you will fight against poverty and exclusion beside the actors of Emmaus movement.
Meeting new people
Solidarity workcamps is above all the possibility of experience a great human adventure with people from all walks of life (welcomed people, volunteers, others engaged youths) within an Emmaus structure. Throughout the solidarity workcamps, you will share your daily life with the actors of the movement (meals, excursions, discussions time, …). (Meals, excursions, discussions time, …).
A solidarity breakthrough
You will be able to discover a new world, the Emmaus one, the one of the social and solidarity economy , the one of the mutual aids and a fairer model of society.

When?
At least one week between June 15th to September 15th
Accommodation
Mostly all solidarity workcamps will proposed you an accommodation in a tent, mobile-home or in a collective room. However, there are some solidarity workcamps that doesn’t proposed accommodation. Those ones are mostly proposed to the local youth.
Meals
You will share the meals offered with the people hosted in Emmaus, the volunteers, the workers, and the other youths from the solidarity workcamps.
Travel
You will have to bear all the costs linked to your travel to the Emmaus solidarity workcamp

How can you participate to the Emmaus solidarity workcamps?

Register yourself to the workcamp of your choice in this website from May 2022.
You will be able to list different options of solidarity workcamps.
You can choose the date, the period, you share as your personal motivations, and you confirm !

We will validate your enrolling in one of the solidarity workcamps a few days later after your registration. After this, you will be linked with the Emmaus group that will receive you in the solidarity workcamps.

Every year, more than 200 young people participate to a collective experience of solidarity with Emmaüs !
